In this voluminous book the five separate volumes of the Dutch edition are combined to one continuous story.
The cover illustration pictures the Elf woman Dia, showing to Diana, the little sister of her lover Michaël, the world humans are responsible for.
In fact it pictures the conclusion of the story, in which four children save a magical forest, helped by scouts, the press and all the people who have seen the Elf woman flying.
It all starts quite hopeless, though. Michaël, a 16 year old, very unsecure boy, overcomes his doubts and steals an old van to bring his very sick sister Diana to a hospital. The twins Lucy and Wendy of 13, become his allies.
In the hospital the saving of the dying Elfswood gets started.
